Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to San Hotel & Spa on Nguyen Chanh Street – I mean, it’s tucked away in this quieter part of Cau Giay district that most tourists never really explore. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones hiding in plain sight. The moment I walked through those doors, there was this immediate sense of calm that hit me, like stepping out of Hanoi’s beautiful chaos into your own private sanctuary.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between modern comfort and Vietnamese hospitality. The spa isn’t just some afterthought tacked onto the name – they actually know what they’re doing here. I spent a ridiculous amount of time in their treatment rooms, and honestly, after days of navigating the Old Quarter’s motorbike symphonies and street food adventures, it felt like exactly what my body was craving. The staff has this way of anticipating what you need before you even realize it yourself, which is rare these days. And here’s something I really appreciated – they don’t hover or oversell you on services. They just quietly make sure everything works perfectly.

The location is actually brilliant once you figure it out. Sure, you’re not going to stumble out your front door into the tourist mayhem of Hoan Kiem Lake, but that’s exactly the point. You’re close enough to jump on a quick taxi or grab a motorbike to anywhere you want to go, but far enough away that you can actually sleep at night without earplugs. The neighborhood has this authentic local vibe – there’s a fantastic pho place about two blocks down that I stumbled across during my morning walks, and you’ll see actual Hanoians going about their daily routines instead of just other travelers. Plus, parking is way less of a nightmare here if you’re brave enough to rent a scooter. The rooms themselves are spotless and well-thought-out, with those little touches that show someone actually cares – good water pressure, blackout curtains that actually block light, and air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a freight train. I mean, after staying in some places where you’re basically gambling on whether the WiFi works or the shower runs hot, it’s refreshing to find somewhere that just gets the basics right and then goes beyond that. The 9.9 rating isn’t some fluke – it’s what happens when a place consistently delivers on what it promises without the pretense.

  The hotel is brand new and very well-maintained. The swimming pool is clean and perfect for relaxing after a long day. The restaurant offers a good variety of delicious dishes. Overall, it’s a great place to stay for both leisure and business.

  スタッフさん、みんなとても優しくてウェルカミングで朝食も程よい種類がありました。たくさんの卵料理のバラエティーがあり、フォーもオーダーでき、その場で作ってくれます。
  
  What could be improved: 大通りに面したホテルなので少し騒がしいですが、私は一日中仕事に出ているため、それほど気になりませんでした。
