Sora Home Hoàn Kiếm 3 bedrooms 3 balconies Overview

Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places around Hoan Kiem, but Sora Home actually surprised me – and not just because finding a proper three-bedroom setup in this part of Hanoi is honestly like winning the lottery. The thing is, when you’re walking down Phố Hàng Bài, you’re literally in the thick of everything that makes the Old Quarter pulse. I mean, you step outside and there’s this constant symphony of motorbikes, street food vendors calling out their specials, and that distinctive smell of pho broth that somehow follows you everywhere in a good way.

What really got me about this place was how they managed to carve out these three separate balconies – you know how cramped these old quarter buildings usually are, right? But somehow you’ve got actual breathing room here. The morning balcony (I’m calling it that because it catches the early light perfectly) became my coffee spot where I’d watch the organized chaos of Hanoi waking up. There’s something mesmerizing about watching the fruit vendors set up their displays while office workers weave through on their scooters, clutching bánh mì for breakfast. The other balconies face different directions, so honestly, you can chase the shade or the breeze depending on what the day throws at you.

Here’s the thing about the location that most people don’t realize until they’re actually here – you’re close enough to Hoan Kiem Lake that you can walk there in about five minutes (I timed it), but you’re tucked away from the absolute tourist madness around the lake itself. Hàng Bài Street has this perfect mix of local life and accessibility. There’s a fantastic bánh cuốn place literally around the corner that the hotel staff told me about – turns out half the neighborhood eats breakfast there, which is always a good sign. The building itself feels solid, not like some of those converted shophouses where you can hear every conversation three floors away. I actually slept well here, which in the Old Quarter is genuinely noteworthy.

The three bedrooms make sense for families or groups who want space to spread out without paying resort prices. Each room has its own character – the front room gets more street energy (read: a bit more noise, but it’s the good kind of urban soundtrack), while the back rooms are quieter if you need to decompress. Check-in was straightforward, no drama, and the staff knew their stuff about getting around the city. They’ll arrange motorbike taxis and actually give you realistic timing for getting places, which I appreciated.

I’ll be honest – this isn’t going to give you marble bathrooms or a fancy lobby to Instagram. But what it does give you is a genuine slice of Hanoi life with enough comfort and space to actually enjoy it. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me. It’s not perfect, but it gets the important things right, and in a neighborhood where every corner has a story, that’s exactly what you want.

Reviews of Sora Home Hoàn Kiếm 3 bedrooms 3 balconies

  • Fernando from Finland – 13 November 2024 (8/10)

The location was great, just 15 minutes walk from Hoan Koem lake and the Old Quarter. The apartment is in a narrow street just behind the main one, with very local surroundings, no tourists nearby. The host was very kind and arranged airport pickup and drop off swiftly and with a good and realistic price.

What could be improved: Two of the bedrooms didn't have warm water in the shower (first and second floor) for most of our stay.

  • Sandra from Lithuania – 7 May 2024 (9/10)

Location is great, near the center but very quiet. Room was very cozy and had a nice style. Would definitely come back when I will be in Hanoi.

What could be improved: The only thing I did not like was the humidity inside the room… But we did experience that in a lot of places in Vietnam so got used to that.

  • Katarzyna from Poland – 4 May 2024 (9/10)

Very nice, cute and clean room. Good localization.

What could be improved: No elevator in the building

  • Cliff from Australia – 26 April 2024 (8/10)

Value for money. The property was well located, large and air conditioned. Close to the French and old quarters, a few doors away from a grocery store and other facilities. It was tucked away from the street which makes it quieter than some other places in Hanoi, but I wouldn’t say it was quiet, bed was large and comfortable and room stayed cool even after aircon was turned off for a while.

What could be improved: The shower toilet area shares the same space but it did drain well. The unit didn’t have its own fridge, but a shared one in the lobby. I kept beer in it and it was ok. There is a bit of a dark murky entrance to the place. No Tv

  • Wojciech from Poland – 13 April 2024 (9/10)

Very good value for money. The room was clean and comfortable. The kitchen is open to the public, but we didn't use it because there was a slightly unpleasant smell 😇 but everything in the room was great 🙂 Close to the city, easy communication with the owner :)) We recommend!

  • Tristan from Malta – 24 March 2024 (9/10)

Beautiful house and room. Worth the money

  • Léa from Kazakhstan – 16 February 2024 (9/10)

We had a great stay! The place is clean and comfortable. Great value for money!
    We would definitely come back!

What could be improved: It can be a bit noisy but I feel like it would be the same anywhere in Hanoi.
There is no stove in the kitchen.
