WINDY LAKEVIEW STUDIO HA NOI Overview

Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Hanoi, and WINDY LAKEVIEW STUDIO caught me off guard in the best way possible. You know how sometimes you book a place based on photos and cross your fingers? This actually delivered. The location on Phố Trấn Vũ is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Hanoi rather than just visiting it. You’re right in Ba Dinh district, which means you can walk to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in about ten minutes, but more importantly – and this is something most tourists miss – you’re super close to some incredible local coffee spots that don’t have a single English sign.

The studio itself has this lived-in comfort that I really appreciated. It’s not trying to be fancy (though that 4-star rating is well-earned), it’s just… practical in all the right ways. The bed was actually firm enough for my picky back, and honestly, the AC worked perfectly, which is crucial during those sticky Hanoi summers. What I loved most was the little kitchenette – I mean, it’s basic, but you can make proper coffee in the morning and store some of those amazing bánh mì from the corner vendor. The bathroom’s compact but well-designed, with water pressure that doesn’t make you want to cry. Small detail, but the windows actually keep street noise to a minimum, which is no small feat in this city.

Here’s the thing about this area that guidebooks don’t tell you – Trấn Vũ street has this amazing evening rhythm where locals come out to walk and chat, especially near the small park spaces. You’ll hear motorbikes, sure, but also kids playing and neighbors catching up, which gives you this authentic slice of daily Vietnamese life. The walk to West Lake takes maybe fifteen minutes if you’re meandering (and you should meander), and there’s this little local market two blocks over where you can grab incredibly fresh fruit for practically nothing. Check-in was smooth – the staff spoke decent English and actually gave useful recommendations, not just the tourist trap stuff. That 8.1 rating makes total sense when you factor in the honest value you’re getting. It’s not luxury, but it’s exactly what you need in a city where you should be spending your time exploring, not holed up in your room anyway.

Reviews of WINDY LAKEVIEW STUDIO HA NOI

  • Peter from Australia – 2 April 2025 (7/10)

What could be improved: some of the cupboard fitting were a bit rickety

  • Akhundzade from Azerbaijan – 30 March 2025 (8/10)

Reception and the building needs some renevation. There were ants. But it was clean.

  • Gary from United States – 19 March 2025 (8/10)

Great value, nice little kitchen and great view of the lake. Also nice to have an elevator.

  • Alexa from Austria – 12 March 2025 (7/10)

The location and the view from the room are good. The receptionist was nice. The room has A/C and Balcony.

What could be improved: The room was ok. Don't expect much. It has a bed, and a bath, and a small kitchen. The bath and the kitchen was dirty.

  • Bang from United States – 9 March 2025 (8/10)

The location is excellent. The studio has a beautiful view of the lake.

What could be improved: Although the property is generally clean, it could use some deep cleaning, such as cleaning the edges of the floor, the edges window sills, and the edges of the counters.

  • Nguyen from Japan – 3 February 2025 (8/10)

The location and view from the room is amazing

What could be improved: There is some trash left in the trash bin, the sink was not clean

  • Inna from United States – 4 January 2025 (7/10)

Nice studio, comfortable bed, there is a balcony with the lake view.

What could be improved: The room was perfumed with some strong aroma, which wasn't unpleasant but it was impossible to air out.
There was a party downstairs at a bar nearby, it wasn't too loud, but still audible, so the earplugs are a must.

  • Martin from United Kingdom – 8 November 2024 (8/10)

Perfect for me as I don't like it to busy with a nice coffee shop downstairs. Balcony and kitchen in the room. Close enough to walk to the old quarter but out of the choas with a lovely view of the lake

What could be improved: No hot water, Luke warm at best.

  • Maurice from Australia – 21 October 2024 (9/10)

Close to all attractions and great views.

  • Guillermo from Spain – 27 August 2024 (9/10)

The room was clean and have everything you need ( hot water, gel, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste, all can be renewed everyday. The views are amazing just front of the lake, with a small but enough room balcony. The staff are really helpful and caring. They don’t speak to much English but you should have google translate in hand when you are travelling around Vietnam. They kept my motorbike inside every night, doesn’t matter what time I’ve arrived, 2am, 3am… they are always happy to help. Hanoi is famous for motorbike theft, so it’s better be cautious.
